Rohypnol or commonly known as the Date Rape Drug or “roofies”, could very well be the next worst thing to hit the party scene. It is a drug that is used to spike drinks during parties, social gathering, raves or anywhere else for that matter. It incapacitates a person so as to facilitate sexual assault. Rohypnol is also consciously taken by few for amusement purposes.

Recently, from a mail I received, (matter borrowed) about an incident, a few months back. ” A woman at a nightclub (Mumbai) on a Saturday night was taken by 5 men, who according to hospital and police reports, was gang-raped before dumping her at Bandstand, Mumbai.

Unable to remember the events of the evening, tests later confirmed, repeat rapes along with traces of Rohypnol in her blood. The effects of this drug are that the person won’t have the slightest recollection of all that had taken place the night before.

Rohypnol, which dissolves in drinks just as easily, is such that, the victim doesn’t conceive from the rape and the rapist needn’t worry about having a paternity test identifying him months later.The drug’s affects are not temporary, they are suspected to be permanent. Any female that consumes it might not have the ability to conceive in future. The weasels can get this drug from anyone who is in the vet school or any university.

So from now onwards, be careful about strangers offering drinks or even your own friends, as they might be unaware if someone slips it in the drinks while they are distracted.

I do not know what all I should warn you about with something like this on the loose. All I can say is;

1) DON’T BLOODY DRNK AT ALL IN CLUBS. IF YOU WANT TO, DRINK BEFORE YOU ENTER CLUBS FROM A BAR OUTSIDE.

2) MAKE SURE THE BOTTLE IS OPENED IN FRONT OF YOU. (I know it works for only for bottled beverages that you can carry)

Since gay rights are decriminalized in India, the ones who have absolutely no respect for moral behaviour can take advantage of this.

GUYS, if you thought it was safe for you guys because you don’t have a problem with conceiving, think again, coz the last thing you want is to wake up the next morning with a sore @$$
